South Cave United v Reckitts

6.30pm  19 August 2015

Humber Premier League, Premier Division
South Cave United 2 Reckitts 3 (att 18)

Newly-promoted South Cave won their opening Premier Division fixture on Saturday, but, after leading in this game, they were bought back down to earth following a second half comeback by Reckitts.

The visitors looked the better side from the off. They dominated possession and created plenty of chances, but were undone when a sharp volley gave the home side an unexpected lead. Reckitts drew level as half time approached, but within a minute or so South Cave scored again.

With the changing rooms a long walk away, half-time team talks were on the pitch, and the man in charge of Reckitts had a lively discussion with is team. It did the trick, as they scored twice in the second half to get a win they deserved on the balance of play.

South Cave's facilities are typical for Humber Premier League football, a roped-off pitch with dugouts. It all looks new though, and neither the brick-built changing rooms nor the pitch itself currently appear on Google maps.

What appears to be the old pitch remains, with a single dugout, on the far side of a cricket pitch from the changing rooms. To get to the new pitch players leave the changing rooms and walk south to a field that's up against the noisy A63 dual carriageway into, and out of, Hull.
