Waddington v Peel Park

6.15pm  10 April 2014

East Lancashire League, Bob Little Cup, Group Stage
Waddington 8 Peel Park 0 (att 22)

On a pleasantly sunny spring evening Waddington's Twitter Lane ground was an idyllic spot to spend 90 minutes, as the home side cantered to victory against strugglers Peel Park in the cup for second division sides.

Waddington dominated from start to finish. They were 3-0 ahead after just 15 minutes, and added a fourth towards half time. They started the second half as they'd started the first, with three quick goals, and from then the game rather petered out, until a quality strike added an eight goal in the 89th minute.

Waddington is a village just outside Clitheroe, with a sports ground that's a typical village set up. The small pitch runs lengthways from the car park, with changing rooms away to the right, space for a cricket pitch alongside the football, and playground equipment for those too young to concentrate on the sport.
