Acton v Mold Town United

6.45pm  20 August 2013

Clwyd East League
Acton 1 Mold Town United 3 (att 15)

Two clubs who are new to the Clwyd East League this season, although Acton did begin a year ago before dropping out mid-season.

The home side's opening game, on Saturday, had ended in an 8-0 home drubbing. With that in mind they might have been relieved to get to half time with the score still goalless tonight, except that on Saturday they'd conceded all eight in the second period.

True to form, Mold went ahead in the opening minute of the second half, although Acton proved more resilient than last time when they equalised. Both teams struck the woodwork before Mold showed their superiority with two more goals.

Acton's ground is basic, but on a warm and sunny evening the Recreation Ground on Oak Drive, Rhosnesni in Wrexham, was pleasant. It is nothing more than a pitch, roped along both touchlines, with austere-looking changing rooms behind the goal.
