Bowl 2000 v Mosstodloch

2pm  5 May 2013

Moray Welfare League
Bowl 2000 1 Mosstodloch 6 (att 18)

The last time I saw Mosstodloch was during the village club's debut season in Welfare football, when they looked out of their depth and unlikely to last too long. Things have changed in the couple of years since, and they played some good football to maintain their early (summer) season challenge for promotion.

They had this game won well before half time, scoring four times before Elgin-based Bowl's consolation before the break. With the contest over the second half wasn't great, although the visitors eventually managed a couple more goals.

Bowl 2000, named after, and sponsored by, a ten pin bowling venue in Elgin, play on a pitch off Thornhill Road, to the south of Elgin. There are two pitches, an ageing portable building which provides changing rooms, and not much else at present.

But new shops have been built as part of a development at Thornhill, new houses are still being built, and a pavilion is apparently planned for the playing field.
