Peterhead Pensioners v Hatton

2pm  14 April 2013

Buchan Welfare League
Peterhead Pensioners 0 Hatton 2 (att 20)

Thankfully the home side's players were younger than their name suggests, they're based at the town's Pensioners Social Club, but they were comfortably beaten by an enthusiastic Hatton side who have just returned to the league after a year's absence.

The Buchan Welfare League is a summer league, and today's fixtures were just the second round of matches of its 2013 season.

It wasn't a great game, with a very strong wind making good football difficult. Hatton won thanks to a goal in each half, although the home side helped them by having a player sent off in each half.

Peterhead Pensioners home pitch is Barclay Park, next door to Buchanhaven Hearts' juniors ground and adjacent to a Morrisons supermarket built on the site of Peterhead FC's old ground. It's a basic park pitch with a pavilion in one cormer.
