Elstow Abbey v Pavenham

11am  6 October 2012

Bedfordshire County League, Division One
Elstow Abbey 0 Pavenham 3 (att 103)

First of the Bedfordshire County League's three "hop" games today, and the only one for me as I'd already visited one of the later two.

Elstow Abbey were well organised for the much larger than usual crowd, and their match programme, a regular issue, was excellent.

As always with these games, with so many neutrals in attendance, the atmosphere was a little strange, but it was good to catch up with some familiar faces, and the action on the pitch wasn't bad.

The sides were well matched during an entertaining but goalless first half, before the visitors took control after the break for a convincing win.

Elstow's ground, a neatly roped off, and well maintained, pitch within sight of the Abbey, is a pleasant place to watch a game.
