Langho v Mill Hill

2 April 2012
East Lancashire League, Division One
Langho 1 Mill Hill 1 (att 33)

It's tight at the top of the East Lancashire League, and both of these title challengers had to settle for a point each after an entertaining game at The Rydings. The result keeps Langho top of the table, and Mill Hill fifth with games in hand.

Both goals were in the first half, the visitors taking an early lead before Langho deservedly equalised. Langho had plenty of chances to win it, but failed to take them, while Mill Hill thought they'd scored a very late winner, but it was controversially ruled out out for offside, after the Langho's club linesman (no official assistants in this league) flagged.

Langho's pleasant ground is a typical village green set up. The pitch is open, not even roped off, and the changing rooms are housed in building which also houses an inviting looking clubhouse. The Rydings was a hive of activity, with a kids' game taking place on a small pitch adjacent to the seniors.
